Deborah Genninger is a psychotherapist in full time private practice. She is a New York State licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of clinical experience working with patients in a variety of settings. Deborah has worked with adults, children and adolescents in individual, couples and family therapy. She works with individuals struggling with a wide range of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief, creative blocks, life transitions, eating issues, relationship difficulties, isolation, work/family/school stress and wellness.

Before she began work as a clinical social worker, Deborah worked as a professional actor in New York. Her life and professional history is unique and has given her the ability to understand the challenges performing artists negotiate in their day­-to­-day life. She has devoted a part of her private practice to working with actors, creative and performing artists.

Deborah has extensive post-­graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She works both intensively (multipliable sessions per week) and in weekly sessions. She strives to provide an atmosphere of comfort and acceptance where you can feel comfortable talking about difficult issues.

She offers a highly personalized approach to each patient. With compassion and understanding Deborah works with each individual to; help them develop insight into troubling patterns, discover more choices, and make changes that lead to a more happy and fulfilling life. Growth occurs in an atmosphere of respect, and the belief in the human capacity for healing and change.
